Tortilla Chips
There are a few different ways you can do this.
Depending on whether you’ve used my homemade flour tortilla recipe, you’ve made your own corn tortillas, or you’ve bought ready made tortilla wraps that you need to use up (perfect if you just have a couple left after a dinner you made!) of either kind, these leftover tortillas are going to be great to use for tortilla chips. My favourite way is definitely to use corn tortillas though.
Tortilla Chips
Time: Prepare: 5 mins | Cook: 6-8 mins
As many tortillas as you have (corn recommended, but flour works too)
Cooking oil
A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to about 180ºC (about 360ºF) Cut the tortillas into nice triangles (or whatever shape you want, really!), and spread them out on a baking tray covered in baking paper. Spray or brush cooking oil over the chips and cook them in the oven for about 4 minutes and then flip over for another 2-4 minutes. All ovens are different so you may need a bit longer, but make sure they don’t burn! When they come out, sprinkle some sea salt over them and let them cool. Your snack is done!
