Ginger Health Benefits

Ginger is well known for being a healthy ingredient, but what does it actually do for you?

Anti-inflammation, treats nausea and helps with weight loss.

One of the oils that occur in ginger, gingerol, has anti-inflammatory effects on the body, and contains antioxidants. Ginger can also help treat nausea, it looks like it might be helpful for people experiencing nausea from undergoing chemotherapy, and also for pregnant people experiencing morning sickness. Do note though, that there are some cases where consuming large amounts of ginger is not necessarily recommended, so check with your doctor if you are unsure.

It also seems that ginger might help with weight loss (if that’s something you’re trying to achieve!), possibly because of how ginger lowers blood insulin levels (high blood insulin levels are associated with obesity).

People with osteoarthritis have reported less joint pain and discomfort when consuming ginger. It can also help reduce menstrual pain!

Remember I said that cinnamon is known as one of the foods that can help prevent Alzheimer’s? Ginger is another!

You can easily get ginger root raw, chopped and frozen, or ground - it really elevates stir fries, rice dishes, baking and tons more! There are so many ways to use this amazing plant.
